after releasing brand new material on dum034, dum records are dipping into the label boss’s production archives for the next one: it is a reissue that features tracks from a number of classic mono junk releases. two came on trope records, one in 1995 and one in 1993, and the last pair of cuts come from 1996 when they were released on plug research. arguably some of the influential finnish producer’s finest work, all of the tracks here emphasize how long he is operating on the top of his game already.

nice price deal !!! tom and his computer is the newest alias for copenhagen favourite thomas bertelsen. he started out as a teenager by looping and creating beats on his 4 track tape-recorder. since then the very talented producer and dj has been around the block. he produced two albums (with lulu rouge) and a number of songs, edits and remixes. he has also been djing alongside trentemøller every now and then since the early days and most recently tom and his computer performed live on the opening slot of trentemøller’s latest live tour and lately at sonar copenhagen 2015.

splendor & squalour number 3 sees brame & hamo return to their rising imprint. since the boys ep lamajs secrets on dirt crew we have seen them do a string of remixes for labels such as kolor ltd, heist & their very successful remix for harry wolfman and loz goddards uncle buck on dirt crew. all these releases have kept a steady momentum going for the sligo boys in the house scene. for this ep we have a full 3 tracker consisting of all original cuts. the ep kicks off with kebab dreams which takes us on a trip to the moon with greasy drums and saucy groove. up next is the mpc workout cert city paying homage to their hometown of sligo. closing the ep we have retch wretchedness which takes a darker turn showing us the spookier side of brame & hamo while still keeping the jazzy touch. a peak time track for sure.

shlømo signs new singular, cat number 9 with titan ep. the parisian artist, co-founder of taapion records delivers two deep techno cuts on a side, clearly floor orientated, “titan” opens the hostilities and shows all the thoroughness of the man, powerfull and precise, sharp… then comes “memento mori”, made in collaboration with his friend awb (adrien ozouf), where we can find the same ingredients with more emotional flavours, going deeper. b side starts with a drastic reshape of “titan”, by norman nodge himself, before going on a down tempo warehouse feeiling closing perfectly this record with “void axis”.

curitiba-based aia records returns with it s second release. lucas and marcelo also known as doneck, started to join forces back in early-2013. musically influenced by international recognised artists such as san soda, andre&#769,,s and move d, the duo also found significance in the sounds of aia s own label heads aninha & antonela antonela giampietro. therefore, creating a mixture of three soulful, deep but endlessly sounding tracks seems very convincing and credible to the overall ethos of the imprint. with assaz the duo delivers a deep but soulful house number, whereas ocluso is deep house at it s best, with a light atmospheric vibe and the echoing vocal. last but not least, te&#770,,nue creates this feeling of weightlessness and ease with warm natural added sounds and it s groovy bassline.

local talk release number 66 moves in deeper territories with a duo that needs no further introduction, greg dowling, shane johnson aka fish go deep. these two fine gents have been releasing music for more than two decades. both greg & shane played an integral part in the emergence of house music in cork city between the years of 1988 and 2001 as their well renowned sweat night at sir henrys helped to attract a host of talent, such as kerri chandler, laurent garnier, dj deep, glenn underground, derrick may just to name a few. it s a big, big honour to have them on aboard for this debut on local talk. first track, off script, takes us straight back to the days of prescription. the driving kick and bassline, warm pads and a hypnotic melody line that crescendos throughout the track keeping you hooked from start to finish. on the flip, northern reach, follows on the same theme. it hits deep, the strings adds that extra bit of drama and again showing the duo s skill in creating perfect atmospheric and timeless deep house. you wouldn t be surprised to hear dixon drop this in a dj set.

celebrating 20 years, thomas urv and miss mostly’s ploink imprint drops the first in a trilogy of techno releases featuring the norwegian brand’s core artists.
the package inaugurates with oslo’s prins thomas editing tromsø legend mental overdrive ‘hellbent’ for a decadent cut featuring sinister drones and dusky atmospherics. urhaug, also known under his house alias tobii, demonstrates tantalising melodies and a chugging bassline in ‘7.3’ before ploink veteran nordenstam takes things into a rhythmic direction in ‘haustfargar’ using shuffling percussion, bouncy toms and spectral synths. christian tilt, another core ploink member, then drops the mesmerising ‘ord’ boasting industrial stabs, a throbbing low-end and cosmic effects. tying it all together, fresh bergen talent hutmacher concludes the release with a cacophony of grooves, samples and echoes in an arcane number named ‘dobbelgänger’.

asa moto are two mysterious producers from belgium who have been honing their sound at deewee for a number of months, delivering with their first release two futuristic pieces for the slowed down dance floor.

soooo here we are with the tenth and final release, thought it would be nice to finish on a nice zen like number, so this is a extra special release kind of a mini lp almost -opened up by fx mchn flush the trush is an intro to the comp and a reverse funk skittish affair next up is new man on the block for us here we been sitting on a collection of his tracks but felt this one complemented this ep the most, ecco foul, gloss is a sleazy machine groove that does t do much but thats just the way we like it .then comes mr facade with his jerky funk sweet surprises and warm melodies. the b side is opened by another newcomer from running back record hugh mane new age dawns whose track come s deep and wide open has to be heard on the headphones as well as the club jamie blanco s chord arrangments get opened up and spaced out by lht office boy toby tobias in a detroitesque ditty thats been used to open a few sets in 2015 already and finally alphonse delivers an out and out machine jam with the usual dub influence brought in vocal fashion.

french veteran dj w!ld delivers the third release on uk imprint vessel records, which features two originals plus remixes from argentinean producer franco cinelli and label founder james barnsley. plus loin is a thudding piece of robust house featuring heady toms, suspenseful drum rolls and spectral keys whilst whats up men is a more rhythmic cut containing a subtle bassline and echoing synths. on the flip, leeds producer james barnsley s version of what s up men alters the original into a peaktime-focused number with crunchy snares, until franco cinelli concludes the package with an animated rendition of plus loin.

zackey force funk was born into this wild world in tucson, az in 1974. in and out of prison since the age of 17, zff began producing on pirated software his brother gave to him once he had given up a life of crime to focus on writing tunes and raising his family. first discovered by kutmah back in the golden era of myspace, zackey’s signature “force funk sound” swiftly grabbed the attention of a number of formidable producers. as these tunes were scattered across various labels, finding their homes on their respective collaborator’s projects, zff continued to hone his style, delving deeper into the psychedelic future funk realm of which he has created for himself. the fruits of his discipline all add up to “electron don” hnr52 a 15-track collection of early productions that serves as the initial transmission of a fantastical mind that has many more stories to tell. “electron don” gathers together various unreleased and classic tracks recorded by zackey force funk circa 2009-2011 in tucson, az. included here are a treasure-trove of classic productions by the electron don himself, as well as tracks by luminaries salva, mike gao, lorn, jellphonic, cupp cave, crimekillz, mark lowe and paolo xz.

counter pulse presents number 15 in it s limited vinyl series with a release by berlin artist myk derill, who delivers three tracks made up from his trademark sound of raw, futuristic atmospheres and heavily dubbed-out techno grooves. the title track -mess- also receives a superbly deep work-out by roberto from fachwerk. this will be a strictly vinyl only release for a while, with the digital versions appearing later in the year, but for now, full respect to the vinyl guys, you get to spin this first !

nick lapien is back on bliq under his metropolis incarnation, with “solitude” is the latest effort by the berlin based producer. the title track yields a spiralling locked groove that’s complemented with moist vocoder lines in tandem with dreamy synth riffs, its refined remix version delivered by delsin’s d5 (formerly known as dimension 5).

heralding from brighton, married (production) couple sam and tracy presented classic with some music classic was very familiar with. not only is sam a member of the legendary gramme, but has also featured on a number of past luke solomon originals for classic…so are already part of the extended family. classic immediately warmed to the music and the music already felt at home. looking for the right remixer begun - classic played the tracks to long-time member of crazy p - a certain mr basejam and immediately leapt to them and remixed not one – but both of the records on the ep as he loved them both so much. the result is a meeting of minds sounds and words.

berlin-based palms trax continues adding to his run of quality efforts with the forthcoming release of his high point on low ground ep: impressive effort number two for the dekmantel imprint. serving up three retro-futuristic killers, donaldson parades his ability to touch on the many different corners of contemporary house music, whilst delivering heavyweight dancefloor standards. the title track blazes a beaten-up vocal snippet over stanked-out synths, stretched to a breaking point across a low-riding bass line. a stabbing moroder-esque bass line dominates cloud city , whilst paws equals pure and raw broken-beat bliss with a pinch of acid.

for the 7th release on love on the rocks, we welcome the mexican duo zombies in miami for a three track ep titled snake language. the title track is a raw an haunting drum heavy number. on the flip comes calo with its twisting riffs that wind and turn alongside percussive interludes. yamo changes the pace but is no less impressive with climactic flutes and a driving bass line. with this ep, the zombies in miami are literally on fire!

having made his family life a priority for the last three years, picotto was nonetheless busy in the studio, adding to his beyond-extensive catalogue of releases and preparing us for a new salvo of pumping techno, jacking tech-house and quintessential club material. from heart to techno, picotto s ninth studio album features a number of collaborations with regular partners in crime riccardo ferri and devid, who both throw in extra measures of italian flair to the mix.
